Privacy

We collect only what is needed to quote, process, secure, display, and reconcile a leaderboard placement.

What we process

• The URL you submit, its canonical version, a derived or supplied display name, bid value, rank, and timestamps.
• Checkout and payment status, limited PayFast identifiers, amount, security-check results, and an immutable payment ledger. We do not receive or store your card number or CVV.
• Short-lived technical and security data, including a one-way hash derived from the requester's IP address for checkout rate limiting, plus infrastructure logs maintained by our providers.

Why and where

We process this information to perform the purchase, publish the listing, prevent fraud, resolve support or payment issues, keep accounting records, and meet legal obligations. Public listing information is visible to anyone. PayFast processes checkout information; OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide hosting, database, security, and delivery infrastructure.

The URL, bid, and required checkout data are mandatory to buy a placement; without them we cannot quote, process, or activate it. You provide the listing data directly, while PayFast supplies payment status and limited transaction identifiers. Our providers may process information in South Africa and other countries where they operate. Where required, we rely on contractual and security safeguards for cross-border processing.

Retention and rights

Public listing and ranking records remain while the board operates or until moderation requires removal. Payment and reconciliation records may be kept for up to five years for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Routine security logs are generally kept for 90–180 days. Subject to law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or objection by emailing info@techlocal.co.za.
