Rules

Best of SA is a public, paid leaderboard. Rank is the verified bid — nothing else.

How ranking works

• New listings start at R100. Bids use whole South African rand.
• Taking #1 costs at least R100 more than the current leader. A lower bid takes the position its value supports.
• Use the same canonical URL to boost an existing listing. You pay only the difference, with a R5 minimum PayFast payment.
• Equal totals keep confirmation order: the listing confirmed first stays higher.
• Query strings and fragments are stripped. Paths remain significant, so a product such as techlocal.co.za/ping stays distinct from the main Tech Local site.
• Known permanent domain moves are treated as one listing so an old address cannot split a venture's total.

While you pay

• PayFast's server notification—not the browser return page—activates a placement.
• The board can move while checkout is open. Your payment adds the shown amount to the listing, and the resulting rank is calculated after confirmation.
• Being outbid later is not itself a refund reason; your listing remains at the rank its verified total supports.

What may be listed

• Public business, product, project, or professional websites.
• No malware, phishing, impersonation, unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, abusive, chat-invite, or link-shortener destinations.
• Tech Local may remove or correct a listing that breaks these rules. Email accounts@techlocal.co.za to report one.
